You thought Abs In April was the start and end of it?!?! Nooooooo! Muscles in May are here people. Last month we worked out core which is the foundation of our body for posture, balance and control. Now we will build all of the muscles around our core throughout the month of May. So get ready to work your chest, back, arms, legs and core!! All I  ask is that you give it your all, you have nothing to lose here but some body fat, which is what we are going for since summer is around the corner. SO GO ALL OUT!! Get radical with this thing and dare to take the challenge of making a change! We are 2 days over the half way point of our Abs In April. Take a picture of your have way progression for your records. If you are on the right track and making progress that is great, step it up one more notch. If you haven’t seen any results or have not been going as hard as you think you should. You still have 13 days to make a change. You must realize, May 1st is coming and you can’t control or change that. The only thing you can control is that you made a goal at the beginning of April, and if you feel you have not done enough thus far, you can change what you’re going do for the next 13 days. Realize that YOU control your body, YOU control your mind, YOU control what you eat, YOU control how much you workout. Therefore YOU control the results of your goals whether that means YOU SUCCEED! with your Abs In April, or YOU FAIL! It’s never too late, YOU have 13 days still left in April. Where will you stand when May 1st comes?SUCCESS or FAILURE?

Your Core Is The Key!

People tend to think getting abs just consist of doing ab workouts. The truth is, to really get the abs you want, you must work and tighten up the entire core of your body. Its said that your core consists of 29 different muscles, we are going to break it down into general sections such as your Abdominals/Obliques, Pelvis, Hips, Butt Muscles(what I like to call Glutes), Lower Back and Mid Back. There are a few exercise videos below to help you work your entire core! Remember, Core is key to getting our Abs in April!!!!

Here is a collection of core workouts that you can pick which ones you want to do. I would suggest picking 5 good ones for you, doing sets of 10 reps or 20 secs for ones you have to hold, and repeat 2-3 times.

Tip 2: CARDIO IS OUR ALLY!!!

I'm just like everyone else, I wasn't a fan of cardio that was not playing basketball. But for the month of April I have to keep saying that Cardio is my ally to getting these Abs like they are suppose to be! So I would suggest to do 30 min of cardio 4-5 days out of the week. If you can't do that much, start with a lower time or less days and work your way up. Start with at least 10 min though for 3 days a week, that is less than 1% of your day. You can give less than 1% of your day to improving yourself. I have posted some home cardio workouts underneath and everyone should find one of these that works for your level of cardio. ABS IN APRIL, KEEP SAYING IT AND KEEP DOING IT!!!

A Major Component To Getting These Abs in April. Tip 1

 A  major component to getting our Abs in April, alongside of working our butts off, is going to be what we consume. I know we love the sweet stuff but for the month of April, sugar is our ENEMY! Look at sugar like a mean boss or a ex girlfriend or boyfriend, or a hater or that thing that girl had on her lip and makeup didnt cover that well. lol We have to use all our strength to stay away. Things like Candy all types of candy (this one is tough for me), cookies, ice cream, pop (pop this is a big one to let go), excess amounts of juice, hunny buns, cupcakes, nutty bars, you get the picture. If you have to question if its on the NO list, it probably is. I would say you can substitute the pop and juice for Water, crystal lite packages, sports drinks(not to much though they have High Fructose Corn Syrup (liquid sugar) in them), More water. I would say if you can get half of what you drink daily to be water, youre well on your way. This is Tip 1. Start with this and we will be well on our way to meeting out goal.
